Jokowi Signs Presidential Decree 75/2022, Mahfud MD Becomes Acting Menpan-RB until There is a Definitive Minister

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo signed the Presidential Decree (Presidential Decree) Number 75 of 2022 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Implementing Tasks, Authorities and Responsibilities of the Minister for Empowerment of State Apparatus and Reform (Menpan-RB) in 2019-2024.

The Presidential Decree was signed on 12 July 2022.

Reporting from a copy of the Presidential Decree that has been confirmed by the Kemenpan-RB, Friday (15/7/2022), there are three points that are regulated.

First, stop respectfully Tjahjo Kumolo as Menpan-RB for the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period, starting from July 1, 2022, accompanied by thanks for his dedication and services to the nation and state during his tenure.

Second, appointing the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mohammad Mahfud MD, as the Acting Minister (Plt), Authorities, and Responsibilities of the Menpan-RB for the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the 2019-2024 period, starting from July 16, 2022 until the appointment of the definitive Menpan-RB.

Third, this Presidential Decree comes into force on the date of stipulation, namely July 12, 2022.

As is known, the position of Menpan-RB was vacant after Tjahjo Kumolo passed away on July 1, 2022 at 11.10 WIB at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Central Jakarta.

Tjahjo died after undergoing intensive treatment for his illness.

Meanwhile, since last June 20 or when Tjahjo was hospitalized, the position of Menpan-RB was temporarily replaced by Mahfud MD on an ad interim basis.

After that, on July 4, the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian replaced Mahfud as MenpanRB ad interim until July 15, 2022 or today
