Jokowi’s flashback story about managing the pandemic
On that occasion, Jokowi also spoke of the government panic at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because, Jokowi said, all countries are fighting for a COVID-19 vaccine.
“I remember when the pandemic started. What caused the panic in our government ranks was because we were fighting over the vaccine with other countries. All the countries were fighting over the vaccine,” Jokowi said.
“Secondly, it was a fight that at first they were dressed in PPE, everywhere, even though we were producing. I was so confused at the time,” added Jokowi.
However, over time, Indonesia managed to overcome the crisis. Now hundreds of millions of vaccine doses have been injected into the community.
“But thank God we have so far injected 440 million doses of the vaccine into people, so we are among the best in the world in terms of managing and controlling the pandemic,” said Jokowi.
