Jokowi Sentil Menkes-Mentan Because Imports

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he was annoyed that medical equipment (alkes) and agricultural machinery (alsintan) were still being imported. Jokowi threatened to announce the details of the imported goods if it was continued.

“Alkes, medical equipment, the Minister of Health, beds for hospitals. I saw production in Jogja, Bekasi-Tangerang, buying imports, do we want to continue? Please, I’ll announce it later. already annoyed like gini, I’ll announce it later,” said Jokowi during a briefing on the Proud Affirmation Action Made in Indonesia broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Friday (25/3/2022).

Jokowi said that medical equipment in regional hospitals was still imported. Jokowi said he monitored the details of the items every day.

“This is a regional hospital that buys imports, the Ministry of Health is still importing, so (I) read later. Because now it’s very easy, detailed, now I can monitor it every day,” he said.

Jokowi then highlighted agricultural machine tools that were also imported. Jokowi also annoyed about it.

“Alsintan, Minister of Agriculture, what are kayak tractors like that no high tech just imports, it irritates me,” he said.

Regarding the alsintan itself, Jokowi has witnessed it himself while planting corn in Atambua, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) yesterday. He ordered the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo to stop the import of agricultural equipment.

“I was yesterday from Atambua, nanam I saw that there was a tractor corn, I saw the agricultural machinery, ouch. You can’t, Minister, you can’t,” he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi also highlights stationery that is also imported. Jokowi asked for the import of medical equipment until the stationery was stopped.

“Pencils, paper, I checked imports, pens, what are we? Sometimes I love you thinking it is us do you know things like this. It’s possible that we all don’t work in detail so we don’t understand the goods purchased are imported goods,” he said.

“Imported notebooks, how? Do not continue this, stop! So that it will jump later if we all buy domestic products, our economic growth will jump,” he added.

Jokowi also mentioned the budget in several ministries. He ordered Kemendikbud-Ristek to be careful.

“Let’s look at the figures at the ministry. Public Works 92 trillion, Ministry of Defense 68 trillion, Police 56 trillion, Ministry of Health 36 trillion, the big ones, which I mention the big one. Dikbud 29 trillion, be careful Ministry of Education and Culture, this morning I checked only 2 T, it seems that there is something not enthusiastic about it, at the ministry,” he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi highlighted the purchase of school chairs and benches. He emphasized that the goods could be made domestically.

“For cooking, buying chairs, buying chairs, importing us, importing laptops from us, we can make all of that, we can make everything. Never mind do not keep it up,” he said.
