President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) responded regarding the lawsuit pretrial which was submitted by Firli Bahuri regarding the determination of suspect status by Polda Metro Jaya. Jokowi said this was Firli’s right which must be respected.
“That is also a legal process that we must respect. That is a right,” said Jokowi at the Indonesia GBK Arena, Central Jakarta, Saturday (25/11/2023).
Jokowi also asked to respect the legal process currently taking place. He was reluctant to comment further while the legal process was still ongoing.
“Respect the entire legal process. Because it is still in process, I don’t want to comment,” he explained.
Firli Contests Suspect Status
Previously, Firli Bahuri did not accept being named a suspect by Polda Metro Jaya. Firli Bahuri chose to fight and filed for pretrial.
“Case Number 129/Pid.Pra/2023/PN JKT.SEL,” is the case number reported by the South Jakarta District Court SIPP, Friday (24/11).
Sitting as applicant Firli Bahuri and defendant Metro Jaya Police Chief. The lawsuit was filed today.
“The first trial will be December 11 2023,” he said.
