Jokowi replaces Novi’s motorbike, Ojol driver whose vehicle was lost on the first day of work

KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a Honda Beat motorcycle to Wahyu Novi Arini, an online motorcycle taxi driver from Gogor, Wiyung Surabaya, East Java.

The motorbike was given as a replacement for Novi’s motorbike which was lost on Thursday (10/2/2022), when Novi was working.

The motorbike was given to the Surabaya Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Akhmad Yusep Gunawan.

“Alhamdulillah, Masya Allah, thank you, Mr. Jokowi, thank you, Mr. Police,” said Novi, holding her five-month-old youngest child, Monday (14/2/2022).

She and her husband will return to using the motorbike to earn a living to meet the needs of their small family.

“Later, I will work again, sir. Because there is only one motorbike. Thank God,” said Novi.

Meanwhile, Surabaya Police Chief Kombes Pol Akhmad Yusep Gunawan said his arrival was a mandate from Jokowi.

“Thank you Mr. President for your concern for our citizens. Hopefully this assistance will be useful for him,” said Yusep.

In addition to motorcycle assistance, there was also cash given by the President to Novi

“This is also from the President to pay off the installments of the missing motorbike,” said Yusep.

Regarding the crime of theft in Surabaya, Yusep promised to arrest the perpetrators.

Previously, it was reported that an online motorcycle taxi driver, Wahyu Novi Arini, was stolen while parked in the front garden of the Pakuwon Trade Center in West Surabaya, Surabaya, East Java, Thursday (10/2/2022).

The incident began when the victim received an order from a customer.

The victim parked his motorbike right behind the Wiyung Police post which was made of containers, in front of the PTC mall in Surabaya.

After entering to take orders in the mall at 18.00 WIB, 20 minutes later Novi went down to the parking lot. However, the Honda Beat Street L 5880 QK motorcycle is no longer there.

In fact, it was Novi’s first day working as an ojol driver.

“That’s just the first day I took a taxi, to make ends meet. In fact, I lost my motorbike,” said Novi.
