JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo and first lady Iriana Joko Widodo performed Eid prayers at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Thursday (13/5/2021).

The President conveyed this in an upload on his personal Instagram account @Jokowi.

“I, the First Lady and several people who are with me everyday, praying Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijriah at the Bogor Presidential Palace complex this morning,” he said. Jokowi.

“We held mats and prayer mats in the courtyard of the main palace building. The priest and preacher was Ridwan Payopo. In his daily life, Ridwan is a member of the Presidential Security Force,” he explained.

The Presidential Spokesperson, Fadjroel Rachman also conveyed the same thing on his verified Instagram account.

In Fadjroel’s upload, it appears that the President and the first lady are praying with 14 other congregations.

During prayer services and listening to sermons, the President and the first lady wear masks.

After worshiping, President Jokowi seemed to be greeting the prayer leaders with a happy Eid al-Fitr.

Reporting from the press release of the Cabinet Secretariat, the President arrived at around 06.16 WIB at the prayer location.

The President, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt combined with a batik-patterned sarong and a black cap, immediately took the front seat.

Meanwhile, Ibu Iriana, wearing a light brown mukena, went straight to the space provided.

At exactly 06.36 WIB, the Eid Al-Fitr prayer began. After the prayers, the President and Mrs. Iriana listened to the sermon.

In his sermon, Serda Payopo said that practicing deeds and worship at home and accepting the situation with the plague as it is today is one of the tests given by Allah SWT.

“We must be patient to accept this reality, because basically, what we are doing is none other than obeying Allah, Rasulullah, the scholars, and the authorities, which in essence aims to save mankind from the threat of an epidemic of a disease,” said Serda Payopo. .

As for the Covid-19 pandemic which is still continuing in this Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr, Serda Payopo also hopes that this month of Ramadan can make us all better than before.

“Therefore, in the midst of this heavier challenge, we always do istikamah by maintaining the routine of worship that we do in the month of Ramadan,” continued Serda Payopo.

This time the Eid Al-Fitr prayer was held with strict adherence to health protocols by checking body temperature and maintaining distance between congregations.

It seems that following the Eid Al-Fitr prayer this time, several instruments are attached, including the Commander Paspampres Maj. Gen. After the Eid Al-Fitr prayer finished at around 07.02 WIB, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana returned to Wisma Bayurini, Bogor Presidential Palace.
