Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the price of PCR tests to be lowered. This follows the PCR test as a condition for boarding the plane.
“The president’s directive is that PCR’s assets be reduced to Rp. 300,000,” said Luhut in a virtual press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, Monday (25/10/2021).
He said Jokowi also ordered the PCR test validity period to be extended. According to him, Jokowi ordered that the validity period of the PCR test results for boarding a plane be 3×24 hours.
“Valid for 3×24 hours for plane trips,” he said.
He said the government received a lot of input and criticism regarding the obligation to test PCR for boarding planes. He answered residents’ questions why the PCR test was a requirement to board a plane when the Corona case dropped.
“This PCR policy was implemented because we see the risk of spreading is increasing because population mobility has increased rapidly in the last few weeks,” he said.
