The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center (RISSC) ranks President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) among the top 50 Muslim influential figures in the world in 2023. In addition, there are also the names of PBNU President Yahya Cholil Staquf and preacher Habib Luthfi bin Yahya .
Quoted detik.com From the book “The Muslim 500: The World’s 500 Most Influental Muslims 2023”, Monday (10/31/2022), there are three names from Indonesia who are included in the list of 50 influential Muslims in the world. In addition to Jokowi, there is PBNU General President Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) and teacher Habib Luthfi bin Yahya.
RISSC is an independent research institute affiliated with the Kingdom’s Aal Al Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought. RISSC is headquartered in Amman, Jordan.
This year Jokowi is the 13th most influential Muslim figure in the world. So in the category of political figures, the former governor of DKI Jakarta is in 9th place.
Meanwhile, Gus Yahya ranks 19th out of 50 names of the most influential Muslim figures in the world according to the RISSC version. Just like Jokowi, Gus Yahya ranks 9th in the category of intellectual figures or teachers.
So Habib Luthfi ranks 30 figures overall. If according to the category of scholar or teacher, his name is at number 18.
