In the afternoon, the heads of state will participate in the 25th ASEAN-Japan Summit. The Jokowi event continued with participation in three bilateral meetings, each with the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Executive President of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the President of the European Council.

In addition, Jokowi will participate in the 10th ASEAN-US Summit, which will then be followed by the ASEAN-Canada Commemorative Summit.

In the evening, President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana will travel to the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Center (CCIC) to attend a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister (PM) of Cambodia, HE Hun Sen.

Earlier on Friday (11/11), President Jokowi attended the central events of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits, which were held in two formats, namely a plenary session and a retreat session.

Foreign Affairs Minister (Menlu) Retno Marsudi said that during the plenary session, President Jokowi conveyed the importance of ASEAN’s unity and centrality in addressing external and internal challenges.

“Externally, ASEAN must be able to navigate increasingly acute great-power rivalries. Meanwhile, internally, ASEAN must remain relevant, maintain compliance with the ASEAN Charter, and overcome the crisis in Myanmar. To face these challenges, the unity and centrality of ASEAN are fundamental Unity and this centrality must be interpreted concretely and not become just an empty mantra,” the foreign minister said in his statement.
