President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) deliver will build a training center or training center in the area Archipelago Capital (IKN) to support Indonesian football. Jokowi revealed that there would be eight soccer fields at IKN.
“The PSSI soccer field will soon be worked on and is expected to be completed in no more than one year,” said Jokowi in a statement while visiting Area 1B, Capital City of the Archipelago, North Penajam Paser Regency, Friday (24/2/2023).
Jokowi said that the construction of the soccer field would be financed by the International Football Federation (FIFA). Jokowi considered this to be proof of international trust in the development of IKN.
“This will be financed by FIFA, showing that international trust, FIFA’s trust in IKN exists,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Minister of SOEs who is also the Chairman of PSSI Erick Thohir expressed his appreciation for the plan initiated by Jokowi to support Indonesian football.
“It is an extraordinary honor that you have decided to build a training center in the middle of the city,” said Erick.
“This is something we are sure will be completed soon sir,” he continued.
The plan for the location of the training center will be built in the IKN 1B planning sub-area (SWP) which is intended for education and government areas.
Accompanying Jokowi in the review included PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, ATR Minister/Head of BPN Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, and Deputy Head of IKN Authority Dhony Rahajoe.
