President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded that discipline enforcement health protocol must be executed decisively. Jokowi does not want the protocol to be merely an appeal.
Jokowi asked Police chief General Idham Azis, Commander of the TNI Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Lt. Gen. Doni Monardo takes firm action if there are parties who violate the previously set restrictions.
“So do not just appeal, but it must be followed by concrete monitoring and enforcement in the field,” said Jokowi while chairing a limited meeting to discuss the report of the Committee on Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery on Monday (16/11/2020) morning, as stated in a written statement.
Jokowi emphasized that the safety of the people amid the current Covid-19 pandemic is the highest law. Therefore, strict enforcement of health protocols must be done.
“I want to emphasize that the safety of the people is the highest law. During this pandemic we have decided on social restrictions, including the dispersal of the crowd,” he said.
The President explained that enforcement of the health protocol discipline must be carried out because no one person currently has immunity to the Corona virus and can infect others in the crowd.
