JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Chief Expert from the Presidential Staff Office, Donny Gahral Adian, said that President Joko Widodo had asked all governors to vote in support of the Job Creation Law.
According to Donny, this was conveyed Jokowi in an internal meeting via video conference with 34 governors throughout Indonesia, on Friday (9/10/2020) morning.
“Yes, everything means being asked for one voice and one narrative on this Act,” said Donny to Kompas.com, Friday afternoon.

According to Donny, at the meeting Jokowi assured the governors that Work Creation Act workers and students protested a lot to increase investment and employment.
“So there is nothing that has been perceived by people so far that this is to harm the people. This is entirely aimed at the common good so that the economy can recover and return to normal,” he said.
Therefore, Jokowi asked the governor, ministers, and heads of institutions to disseminate the contents of the Job Creation Law and at the same time refute various hoaxes circulating.
“(In order) to be conveyed to the public so that it can be understood clearly, does not cause misunderstanding and all involved are obliged to explain to the public. Regarding what the benefits are and denying various hoaxes about this law,” said Donny.
Meanwhile, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo was reluctant to comment when asked Kompas.com about the meeting with Jokowi.
He said, there would be an official statement conveyed by officials in Jakarta.
“There will be a release from Jakarta. Please wait,” he said.
Previously, a number of governors had previously conveyed the aspirations of workers and asked President Jokowi to revoke the Job Creation Law through a government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu), including West Kalimantan Governor Sutarmidji, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, and West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno.
