President Jokowi asked Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani and Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini to open up at the 2024 Presidential Election dispute hearing at the Constitutional Court (MK).

Jokowi invited his subordinates to explain what they do in government. He does not limit what ministers can say.

“As for the Minister of Finance, what kind of budget is there? If the Minister of Social Affairs explains what social assistance is like. Later, everything will be explained,” said Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Airstrip, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4).

Jokowi was reluctant to comment further regarding accusations of politicization of social assistance at the Constitutional Court hearing. He handed over all legal processes in the trial.

He confirmed that Sri Mulyani et al would attend the trial on Friday (3/4). Jokowi asked mass media crews to be patient while waiting for the ministers’ explanations.

“Everyone will attend because they were invited by the MK, everyone will attend Friday,” he said.

Previously, the MK summoned four ministers from the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet to a hearing on the 2024 presidential election dispute. They were asked to testify regarding accusations regarding the politicization of social assistance and the APBN winning Prabowo-Gibran.

The four ministers summoned were Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.
