President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo to pursue the shooting perpetrator against the Head of the Regional National Intelligence Agency (Kabinda) Papua, Brigadier General TNI I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha.
It is known that Putu died in a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Beoga, Puncak Regency, Papua, Sunday (25/4) yesterday.
“I ordered the TNI Commander and the Police Chief to continue to chase and arrest all KKB members,” Jokowi said in a press conference, Monday (26/4).
Jokowi also emphasized that there is no place for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Indonesia’s homeland. Including Papua.
“I emphasize that there is no place for armed criminal groups in Papua or in all corners of the country,” he said.
Previously, the Head of BIN for Papua Papua Region, Brig. Gen. TNI I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha, was killed in a gun battle last Sunday (25/1). Pangdam XVII / Cenderawasih, Maj. Gen. Ignatius Yogo Triyono, said the shooting perpetrators were the Lekagak Telengen group.
“From the report I received, the perpetrator of the shooting of the victim came from the Lekagak Telengen group,” he said, Monday (26/4).
The shooting was found to have started when Putu came to Kampung Dambet with his seven members at 9:20 a.m. WIT, Sunday (25/4).
Putu is known to have stepped in directly because he wanted to make field observations after the KKB in order to speed up the restoration of security after the brutal KKB Papua action in the region. However, there was actually a shootout with KKB.
“At around 15:50 WIT, the BIN Task Force and the Indonesian Military / Police Task Force were intercepted by the Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) Papua, resulting in a shooting at each other around the Dambet church,” said Deputy VII BIN, Wawan Hari Purwanto via a press release, Monday (26 / 4).
