Jakarta –
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Gibran Rakabuming rumored to join the cadres up to the highest leadership of the Golkar Party. Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Golkar Party, Aburizal Bakrie or Ical, has opened his voice on this issue.
Ical said Jokowi or Gibran could join as Golkar cadres. But, not necessarily being the general chairman. Golkar has AD/ART or internal party rules that regulate the requirements for becoming general chairman.
“If you (become) a ketum, there are rules. (You have to cadre for five years) yes, sir. It’s also called an organization,” said Ical in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, as reported detikBaliSaturday (16/2/2024).
Ical said there was another way for Jokowi and Gibran to occupy the highest seats in Golkar. Namely, if Golkar in all provinces wants Jokowi or Gibran to become general chairman by changing the party’s internal AD/ART rules.
Ical views changes to the AD/ART as possible. Changes to AD/ART must obtain approval from Golkar administrators from all provinces in Indonesia.
“(Change the AD/ART for Jokowi or Gibran to become general chairman of Golkar) yes, it’s possible if you want. If all (Golkar administrators) in all regions want it, yes they will,” said Ical.
Ical said that if he couldn’t go this route, Jokowi or Gibran still had the chance to become chairman of Golkar. The final path that can be taken is cadre formation for five years, like other Golkar cadres.
