Joker 2
Interviewer: Have you already seen Joker 2? What did you think? I know a lot of people were divided on this, to say the least.
Todd McFarlane: «Yes, I found it interesting. I spent time with Scott Silver, one of the guys who wrote it. I went out to lunch with him and he said, “Have you seen it?” I said, “No, but I should.” So my wife and I went to see it. “I liked it more than her.”
“I can understand some of the criticism that was made when I saw it, but just because of the way they make movies, the way they act, and so on, there were parts where I was just like, ‘Wow, wow, wow.’ Funnily enough, I got to the point where I was like, “Oh, I see.” And with my ego, I’m going to expose my ego, I said, “Give me the whole movie, put me in a room for three days and let me edit it.” “I think there’s a hybrid there that would work for what it was.”
“Again, I’m completely biased and selfish as to what I thought it would be in my head, but when I got into it with the craziness of the music, I think there’s a way to make it even crazier. But that’s just my opinion. Some people saw it and didn’t like it, and some people loved it. “I think it creates an opinion no matter who sees it.”
Joker 2
What does the review mean? Joker 2 de Todd McFarlane?
Part of the reason why Joker: Folie à Deux was so divisive is because it pulled in several different directions. Joker: Folie à Deux continues the story of Arthur Fleck after his triumphant transformation into the Joker, but it barely introduces Arthur’s Joker persona and causes him to abandon it out of regret. Joker: Folie à Deux also features Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, but loses relevance to the plot towards the end. The musical numbers of Joker: Folie à Deux They discouraged audiences who weren’t interested in musicals, but they didn’t stand out either.
Although some aspects of Joker: Folie à Deux would have been equally controversial, the Joker sequel could have had more impact with a more streamlined script and a few extra rounds of editing. When it comes to filmmaking, even the most inspired film concepts require a lot of tweaking at every stage, from initial development to post-production. More time in these stages could have cleaned Joker: Folie à Deux and left the most suitable ideas in the editing room.
