The Senoufo cultural center, located in Belleville, housed the 3th edition of the 48 hours of kinship to joke Cascades plus Kénédougou against the Southwest. It was May 13 and 14, 2023.
The joking relationship is an activity initiated by the sons and daughters of Cascades, Kénédougou, and Southwest (CKSO) from the Facebook social network. In May 2020, the group achieved an official structuring with a receipt at the key. CKSO’s main objective is to promote joking relationships by putting it at the service of living together.
Thus, these 48 hours of joking relationships are intended to be its national and rotating activity within CKSO; with purposes of recreational gathering, training and promotion of the moments of cultural heritage bequeathed to us. This 3e edition questions the effectiveness, the contribution of the cultural soul in the search for answers to certain evils that our society is experiencing, hence the theme: “Endogenous mechanisms for the promotion of peace and social cohesion: example of joking kinship”. In view of the importance of the activity, it was placed under the patronage of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo represented by the Regional Director of Culture / Hauts-Bassins Siaka Sanon.
For him, “The resilience of populations through culture no longer needs to be demonstrated. This is, moreover, the primary objective of our highest authorities. We congratulate the association for its contribution to the development of culture, a factor of peace and social cohesion in our country”.
According to Déhou Palenfo, president of the CKSO association, “We want to promote joking relationships and living together in Burkina. We did both editions in Ouagadougou. This year, we have relocated to Bobo-Dioulasso and the objective is to do it on a rotating basis”. On the menu, there is a conference on the theme and a shopping street with traditional dishes.
The CO-sponsor Seydou Konaté, representing the sponsors, is delighted and congratulates the initiators.
Dr Dramane Konaté, technical advisor to the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, returned to the sources and values of joking relationships. For him, “The Kouroukanfougan charter is a source of reference to joking relationships. The joking family ties strengthen living together, contribute to the resolution of several community conflicts and bring peace”.
