Fulda (pm/gü) – The Theological Education Department of the Episcopal Vicariate General and the Fulda Theological Faculty with its library have now presented a joint half-yearly program. Their goal: to strengthen Fulda as a place for theological discourse.

“We have set ourselves the goal of bringing theology into conversation and working together to strengthen Fulda as an educational location,” says Dr. Marco Bonacker, head of the education and culture department in the Episcopal Vicariate General, made it clear. In recent months, a working group of the two cooperation partners has put together a diverse and high-quality program that covers events on theological-historical education and also highly topical theological issues, said Bonacker. The Rector of the Theological Faculty, Prof. Dr. Cornelius Roth, emphasizes: “The Theological Faculty, together with the library, wants to invite all people in urban society even more than before to engage with and engage with historical and theological topics and in this context is pleased about the in-depth cooperation with the Theological Education Department diocese.”

Bonacker and Roth emphasize that the program should stimulate theological discourse and bring as many people as possible into contact with various historical and theological topics. It includes, for example, the series of highlights presented by library director Dr. Alessandra Sorbello Staub is responsible, as well as a lecture by Prof. Dr. Christian Ilies on the 300th birthday of Immanuel Kant. The contact study series of events also deals with the topic of suicide. Ethical, medical, psychological and biblical perspectives on this topic will be presented. The program flyer covers the period January to June 2024. It can be ordered by email at bildung@bistum-fulda.de. It is also available in many places in Fulda, such as the cathedral and the parish church.
