Joint Operations Command: The end of the missions of the Emirates Search and Rescue Team in Turkey

The Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defense announced the end of the operations of the search and rescue team from the Ministry of Interior participating in Operation “The Gallant Knight 2” in Turkey, after the Turkish Emergency and Disaster Organization (AFAD) announced the end of search and rescue operations in Turkey, while the Turkish government thanked To the Emirati team for the speed of response and great assistance in saving lives.

The Emirati search and rescue team began the procedures for returning to the homeland yesterday, after 14 continuous working days in the search and rescue operations that the team carried out in Turkey as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 2”, which came under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Country.

For his part, the Director General of Disaster Response, on behalf of the Turkish government, extended his gratitude to the UAE team for the speed of response and great assistance in saving lives at a very difficult time, and sincere appreciation for the team’s professionalism and sincere dedication to supporting Turkish teams.

The Emirati search and rescue team is the last internationally classified team to leave Turkey, after the Turkish government announced the end of search and rescue operations. The search and rescue team from the Ministry of Interior carried out search and rescue missions for survivors in three most difficult areas in Kahramanmaraş province since the earthquake.

The Kahramanmaraş province is the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred in Turkey, with a magnitude of 7.8.

The team succeeded in rescuing 10 people and recovering 26 bodies, and the team was keen to apply the highest standards of security and safety during the operations to extract survivors, and the rubble of buildings was dealt with with high professionalism.
