Joint initiatives of Bulgaria and North Macedonia in tourism

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, a series of joint initiatives will be launched to promote specialized forms of tourism in both countries.

The minister of tourism Dr. Ilin Dimitrov and the plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia in our country H.E. Agnesa Russi Popovska.

The main emphasis of this cooperation can be placed in several directions: projects for the development of common wine routes, development in the field of advertising in the digital environment, through the promotion of the destinations by journalists and bloggers, as well as deepening the cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of useful practices.

In this way, Bulgarian and Macedonian tourists will be able to touch the riches and peculiarities of the two countries and thus lay the foundation for an even more dynamic future development for sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.

There are over 200 promising places in Bulgaria and North Macedonia where tourists can enjoy the taste of quality wine.

“Tourism is a bridge to good neighborliness, to nations, to people. We can and must use the wealth of our countries to develop these relations”, said Minister Ilin Dimitrov.

“Bulgaria is one of the six countries with which we would like to work as a priority in the field of tourism. We welcome any campaign that can further develop our good cooperation”, emphasized Ambassador Agnesa Popovska.

Within the framework of the 68th session of the Regional Commission “Europe” of the World Tourism Organization to the United Nations, a bilateral meeting is planned between Minister Ilin Dimitrov and Lubcho Janevski, director of the National Agency for the Promotion of Tourism in North Macedonia.

At it, the two will exchange specific ideas for destinations to be visited by leading influencers and journalists in order to popularize and online promote the two countries.
