whine. On Tuesday, May 17, between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., officers from the Harburg Police Inspectorate, together with emergency services from the main customs offices in Hamburg and Hanover, checked vehicles and people traveling on the K 87 between Winsen and Lüneburg. A total of 225 vehicles and 278 people were checked. Around 40 emergency services were involved in the control.
As a result, numerous traffic offences, two violations of the compulsory insurance law and one drunk driving as a result of drug consumption were determined and corresponding criminal charges were filed by the police. The employees of the main customs offices initiated several proceedings due to violations of labor law, among other things.
Combating property crime has been a priority for the police in the district of Harburg for years. In addition to pursuing administrative offenses and criminal offences, the aim of such priority checks is above all to gain knowledge about the composition of suspected criminal groups and the vehicles used.
