BRUSSELS Sweden and Finland has responded to aggression Russia from Ukraine by promising to join NATO . The war in Ukraine has drastically changed the geopolitical landscape of the region, as for more than a century, Sweden did not join the war and pursued an “alliance-free policy”. However, experts note that the country is armed and ready to fight any country that threatens its national security.

According to Airforce magazine editor Stefan Geisenheyner, Stockholm has adopted a unified defense philosophy known as “total defence”.

“This system utilizes every resource effectively, without interfering with the nation’s economic growth and prosperity,” said Geisenheyner.

“Total defense is designed to effectively deal with all possible forms of attack, atomic or conventional, invasion by sea or land, and offensive movements by aircraft or guided missiles,” he explained as quoted from the statement. Daily ExpressWednesday (18/5/2022).
