Join Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag Brings Robin Van Persie Home

Erik ten Hag has reportedly added the name Robin van Persie to his Manchester United coaching staff.

After becoming famous at Arsenal, Van Persie defended Man United in the 2012–2015 period. He immediately became the top scorer and led the Red Devils to the last Premier League title which was also Sir Alex Ferguson’s closing season.

Owner 102 caps in the Dutch national team he then joined Fenerbahce and then his hometown club, Feyenoord, where he retired and is now where he coaches.

Van Persie has served as Feyenoord’s assistant coach since the start of last season and has also performed several stints in the club’s academy.

Despite United’s tempting, there are a number of complications that could delay Van Persie’s potential deal to rejoin Old Trafford.

His son has just signed his first contract with Feyenoord and is working alongside his father at the academy.

His daughter is also one of the greatest equestrian talents in the Netherlands, another factor Van Persie will have to consider if he moves to England again.

Familiar faces can often bridge the gap between the club’s fans and the new manager.

Maurizio Sarri appoints Gianfranco Zola. Meanwhile Duncan Ferguson has helped Carlo Ancelotti, Rafael Benitez and now Frank Lampard in the Everton dressing room. David Moyes has Stuart Pearce and Kevin Nolan as his right hand at West Ham.

The pattern was no different at Man United over the years. Ryan Giggs with Moyes and Louis van Gaal, then Michael Carrick who was at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side during his three year tenure.

Yes, United fans would ideally be very happy to see Van Persie again, a pillar of their favorite team in the club’s final season of glory in the Premier League.
