Then you have come to the right place.
Gamer.no is now looking for a new freelance writer for our hardware editorial team, and can offer a platform to live out your greatest geek fantasies.
In recent years, we have published hundreds of tests of PCs, video cards, mice, keyboards, headsets and other fun things, but want to reach out more widely with our material.
The aim is to strengthen our coverage of consumer technology related to gaming. This means that we need more aggregate tests, news, in-depth material and feature articles.
We will be the best in the country at this.
Our articles often start with a question. This is how we can create both informative – and sometimes funny – articles for the benefit of our readers. For example; how much does RAM really matter to your gaming performance? How many mods in Skyrim does it take to break an RTX 4090? And what will it cost to build a PC with the same powers as a PS5?
We have many more such questions that we would like answered, and you are welcome to sit on more yourself.
Then we will of course test the new products that are interesting to our readers. It can be anything from handheld consoles to game monitors.
You do not need journalism training to contribute with us, but communication skills are somewhat more important than specialist knowledge of hardware.
Work assignments
We are looking for someone who can help us cover hardware news when needed, but primarily to write tests, guides and feature stories about consumer technology.
At Gamer.no, our main focus is naturally on games, and our tests are angled towards this. So when you do get to test a processor, we are more interested in benchmarking as many games as possible than assessing the processor in productive tasks.
Qualification requirements:
- You have turned 18
- You are good at writing, and can convey complex topics in an understandable way
- You are interested in technology and games
- You work independently and deliver within agreed deadlines
- You stay up-to-date on the latest in products that are relevant to our coverage
- You can take skillful product photos
- You are willing to learn, and know a little about overclocking, benchmarking and the product market in general
- You know a lot about components and PC construction
It is also an advantage if you have access to a desktop gaming PC as a test rig for sent components.
What can we offer?
Gamer.no is the country’s most read games website.
We give a fee for each delivered article. As an affiliated freelancer, you get a lot of freedom over your work pace, and the editorial management will coach you in writing and photography.
You will get access to new products for testing, and you will get to know colleagues with the same interests as you.

Interested parties can send a concise application about your background (both in general and related to hardware) and the motivation for applying, as well as a CV to [email protected] and [email protected].
We want all applicants to attach a relevant work sample.
Feel free to search our test overview for some pointers when it comes to format and length, and write a case on a product you have lying around.
It is optional whether you write a test or a feature article. Remember to attach photos of the product that you have taken yourself, and preferably data from benchmarking if that is natural.
There is no application deadline, and all applications will be answered.
