In the note released by the State Fair Trade Coordinator For this day, it is remembered that Fair Trade products guarantee respect for labor and human rights, decent wages and conditions, combat child exploitation, support gender equality and are produced with techniques that are respectful of the earth and the environment. natural. This commercial model, which was born in the 1960s, is now present in more than 70 countries.

What we do at Caritas:

  • Through its Fair Trade Network, in which 24 Diocesan Caritas participate, Caritas is contributing to the transformation of this unfair trade model that harms people and the planet.
  • During the year 2022, 432 actions to raise awareness and denounce unsustainable and not very inclusive practices have been carried out, through campaigns, talks, training activities and participation in fairs and other spaces.
  • We have 45 points of sale and 21 stores spread throughout the territory. (SEE MAP)
  • The Fair Trade actions carried out by the network have involved an investment of €635,030, of which €564,693 have been recovered from product sales turnover (89%).
  • Finally, we accompany and collaborate with other agents and entities, nationally and internationally, from the model of fraternal cooperation. A good example of this collaboration are the projects supported by Cáritas Española in Bangladesh and the Holy Land.
