Marselino Ferdinand will be on the same team with players of Indonesian descent, Liam Oetoehganal, if he joins a Belgian club K Beerschot.
Currently, the young midfielder for the Indonesian national team is linked with a move to Belgium. Beerschot VA and SK Beveren are two clubs that Marselino continues to be linked with.
If he joins Beerschot, the Persebaya Surabaya player will be on the same team as a player with Indonesian blood, Liam Oetoehganal.
Currently Liam Oetoehganal plays at Beerschot U-23. Oetoehganal is of Indonesian descent through his paternal grandmother who came from Sungkai, South Kalimantan.
Liam Oetoehganal was born in Nijmegen, Netherlands, and started his career with the Feyenoord Rotterdam junior team. The 18-year-old will move to Beerschot in July 2022.
Liam Oetoehganal also felt called to the young Dutch national team. But never called up the senior team.
Quoted from the Transfermarkt website, so far Liam Oetoehganal has not tasted playing with the Beerschot senior team.
In the Division II amateur competition, Liam Oetoehganal made nine appearances for Beerschot. The player who became the central midfielder scored one goal.
The certainty that Marselino will fly to Belgium was confirmed by Persebaya manager Yahya Alkatiri on Tuesday (24/1) morning.
“For Marsel’s problem, we will see his progress first. It is clear that this week, Insya Allah, January 25, he will go to Belgium,” Yahya said as quoted by Antara.
