We will not return to the same old dysfunctional model with low wages, low growth, low qualifications and low productivity, said the British Prime Minister at the Congress of the Conservative Party
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson said today that he was changing the direction of the British economy and would move it away from the model in which it relied on the import of cheap labor, “Reuters reported.
“We are now starting a change in the direction that should have happened in the British economy a long time ago,” Johnson said. He spoke to delegates to the Conservative Party’s congress.
“We will not go back to the same old non-working model with low salaries, low growth, low skills and low productivity – all this has so far been possible and supported by uncontrolled migration, “he added.
In his speech as a whole, Johnson promised to radically change the face of the country and once again showed his great optimism on all issues. He focuses mainly on the successes of the Conservatives.
Johnson delivered his speech a week later, when he was forced to defend the government’s strategy over complaints of fuel shortages, because of fears that there will be a problem with loading food in stores at Christmas and because of farmers’ fears that they will have to destroy their produce because of the labor crisis in the industry.
In his speech on the last day of the Conservative Congress, Johnson highlighted the achievements of the authorities in the coronavirus vaccination campaign and criticized the Labor Party. He also described the future of Britain after Kovid-19 and Brexit and stressed that this was an opportunity for change.
“We will use the freedoms given to us by Brexit to do things differently,” Johnson promised.
“The response to current tensions and pressures, which are mainly a function of growth and economic recovery, is not to achieve the same old level of uncontrolled immigration in order to keep wages low. The answer is immigration control, which will allow talented people to come to this country, but will not allow immigration to be used as an excuse for not investing in competences and knowledge, equipment, technology and businesses. ” said Johnson.
Speaking of the pandemic, Johnson said that workers must return to the offices. According to him, direct meetings at workplaces are an impetus for labor productivity. The return of employees to their jobs will also be useful for training young staff in the intricacies of the professions, as has been the case so far, he said.
