Johnson recruits in New York

German football professional Jakob Johnson has found a new team in the US professional league NFL. The 29-year-old player is joining the four-time Super Bowl champion New York Giants, the franchise announced. For Johnson, who plays at fullback, this is his third stop in the NFL. His contract with the Las Vegas Raiders expired after last season.

The Stuttgart native spent two seasons in Las Vegas; he previously played for the six-time champion New England Patriots from 2019 to 2021. Johnson could even play a game in Germany with the Giants next season: New York will face the Carolina Panthers in Munich on November 10.
