Johnson & Johnson vaccine only for over-40s after death of foreign woman, “target date of July 11 at risk”

At the end of last week, the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products received a report of a patient admitted with severe thrombosis and a reduced number of platelets. The same side effect that has occurred several times in young women after the AstraZeneca vaccine. The patient is said to have died on May 21.

“It concerns a woman of foreign nationality, under 40 years old, who was vaccinated abroad with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but who died in a Belgian hospital,” says Flemish Minister of Health Wouter Beke.

“There is indeed a link between the death and the vaccine. That’s why we asked the European Medicines Agency to investigate the matter further and deliver an opinion.”
