Johnson & Johnson announced that it will resume registering US participants in the final stage of clinical trials of a possible vaccine against the Coronavirus.

The company said it was preparing, in cooperation with the Food and Drug Administration, to resume the study in the United States, following a recommendation from the Data Safety and Monitoring Board.

The “Washington Post” newspaper had said that Johnson & Johnson vaccine trials against Corona would resume “very soon.”
According to the newspaper, an independent committee investigated the case of a participant in the experiments who had a stroke, and concluded that his disease was not related to the vaccine.

On October 12, the company said that it had temporarily suspended clinical trials of the “Covid-19” vaccine after one of the volunteers in the study contracted an unexplained disease, which led to the disruption of one of the largest efforts made to contain the global epidemic.

Johnson & Johnson’s move came after a similar measure taken by AstraZeneca last September, due to the illness of a volunteer in the British study.
