Johnson apologizes after Corona garden party

LONDON (dpa-AFX) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has apologized after a garden party at his official residence during the first corona lockdown. He understands the anger in the population about the celebration, Johnson said on Wednesday in Parliament in London. The Premier acknowledged that he attended the May 20, 2020 gathering. He had come to the garden of his office to thank employees and thought it was a work meeting. After about 25 minutes he went back to his office. In retrospect, he should have acted differently, Johnson conceded.
