New York, United States.-Legendary artist Juan Azarias Pacheco Kiniping (Johnny Pacheco), will receive a popular posthumous tribute in the center of the Dominican community of Manhattan, on Broadway avenue and Calle 175, in front of the United Palace theater, this Sunday February 21st.
The activity to fire the teacher Johnny pacheco, will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon and will run until 5:00 PM., where numerous personalities will attend to accompany the admirers of the great artist and express their feelings about the career and sad departure of the great artist of Dominican origin .

Johnny Pacheco, who died last Monday, received in 2009, the highest award of the Sovereign Awards: The Great Sovereign, delivered by the Acroarte board of directors chaired by journalist Marivell Contreras.
For her part, the president of the subsidiary of Acroarte in New YorkLissette Montolío expressed that “the departure of maestro Johnny Pacheco has deeply touched all of us who knew him around the world, both as an award-winning musician, father, friend and producer. A distinguished Dominican whose work and impressive performances in front of the Fania All Stars immortalize him ”.
Alexis Beltré, president of the Executive Committee of the Art Chroniclers Association, stated that “tropical music loses one of the greatest figures, this excellent ambassador of the Dominican Republic, of his image and culture of a great musical legacy that must be pride of those of us who have the same nationality ”.
The journalist Roberto Gerónimo and the activist Elías Barreras are the organizers of the vigil in tribute to Johnny Pacheco. Gerónimo asked that “we keep Johnny Pacheco alive keeping in mind his music and his legacy.
Elías Barreras stressed that Pacheco was a great man of the people and this act on Sunday is to give his people the opportunity to fire their idol.
The organizers asked Pacheco’s followers to bring flowers, candles, photos of the artist born in Santiago, Dominican Republic. “Please come with your masks and help us to maintain physical distancing and the protocol so that we avoid all types of contagion of the Covid-19 virus.
