Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for defamation for a column that appeared in the Washington Post in 2018. His ex-partner then wrote that she had been a victim of domestic violence in the past and that her partner had abused her both physically and mentally. Depp’s name was not mentioned in the article, but the actor and his defense said that he clearly indicated him as the attacker. They accused Amber Heard of defamation and demanded $ 50 million in damages from her.
