Life has returned to the red carpet for the launch of the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.
The opening day witnessed the return of international actor Johnny Depp to the cinema and the red carpet for the first time, after a wide defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
The actor, 59, couldn’t hide his excitement at returning to Hollywood, having previously been dropped from several projects during trial, including Fantastic Beasts.
According to reports, crowds of onlookers shouted “Johnny!”, as he appeared dressed in a black suit, white shirt and purple sunglasses, as well as eyeliner and earplugs.
