Johnny Depp spoke at length on Wednesday about his abusive relationship with Amber Heard, whom he was married to between 2015 and 2017. According to the actor, it reminded him of his traumatic childhood. The details are gruesome.
The case revolves around a column Heard wrote for the Washington Post in 2018. In it she wrote about her experiences with domestic violence. She did that without naming her ex, but according to Depp it was still clear that Heard was talking about him.
He then decided to sue her for libel. With the case, Depp hopes to clear his name. The actor is claiming $50 million in damages from his ex.
Heard invokes her freedom of expression. She in turn wants to see 100 million dollars from Depp for the damage she suffered.
There is a lot of attention for the case. The sessions are even via a livestream to watch.
