“They couldn’t stand my acting, they kept saying ‘He’s ruining the movie!’ This is the answer of the Hollywood star when asked how the producers accepted his improvisations in the hit film.
Depp gave an extensive interview to Vanity Fair magazine. In it he talks about his musical ambitions as well as his role as the pirate Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.
“They couldn’t stand my acting, they kept saying ‘He’s ruining the movie!’ I was constantly asked, “Why do you play it like that? What is his image – is he drunk, is he strange?”. And I was just having fun,” answers the Hollywood star when asked how the producers accepted his improvisations in the hit film.
“When I met Angelina and we started filming The Tourist, we had to constantly look around for paparazzi. We couldn’t even talk in public because someone would always take a picture of us and the picture would be interpreted in all kinds of ways.”
Johnny Depp also talks about the time when he wanted to become a musician
“Acting didn’t appeal to me at all when I was about twenty years old. I had made up my mind to become a musician because I can play the guitar. Music was the only thing I wanted to do. But now every role I play is a part of me”
