Johnny Depp (58) sued his ex-wife Amber Heard (36) for libel in connection with a text she published in the Washington Post. Heard did not mention Depp by name in the article, but his lawyers claimed in court that there is no doubt that it is about him.
Heard, for its part, prevailed on one point in its counterclaim against Depp. He was therefore ordered to pay her two million dollars in compensation for the same reason.
The trial was streamed online, and a number of details emerged from the marriage.
Heard accused Depp of physical and mental violence, in addition to claiming that he had abused her. Depp denied this, claiming that it was Heard who was violent.

On social media, it is Depp who has received by far the most support, while Heard has received large amounts of harassment during and after the days in the courtroom in Virginia.
Now, however, she receives a strong statement of support from her own sister, Whitney Henriquez, who has posted a picture on Instagram with the text “#istandwithyouamberheard”.
– I’m with you, sister. Yesterday, today and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself. To be the voice of so many who can not tell about what is happening behind closed doors, the sister starts the post.
She further writes that they knew that this was a difficult match to fight, and that they had the odds against them.
– But you got up and spoke out anyway. I’m so proud to be able to testify for you, and would do it a million times again. I know what I saw, and the truth is on your side. I’m so sorry I’m that the jury’s decision does not reflect that. Forever on your side, writes the sister.
Whitney herself testified in the trial, where she testified in the witness box that she had both seen Depp beat her sister and call her a whore.

Heard’s lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, has after the verdict told about the 36-year-old’s disappointment.
– She feels she has failed all these women because she had more evidence than most, but was still not believed. What this jury said is that unless you film your abuse with your mobile, it is useless, the lawyer said according to CBS.
