Johnny Depp and Amber Heard reach a settlement agreement

It looks like the legal showdown between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is finally over. Although both parties filed an appeal not long ago, yesterday it became known of the settlement agreement concluded between the plaintiffs. According to its results, the ex-spouses waive their claims to each other, and Hurd will pay Depp one million dollars instead of fifteen.

Johnny has already stated that he is satisfied with this result and has promised to spend this million on charity. This was confirmed by his lawyers:

We are happy to officially close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made it clear throughout the process that his priority was to get the truth out to the public. The unanimous decision of the jury and the resulting verdict in favor of Mr. Depp vs. Ms. Heard stand. The payment of the million, which Mr Depp has promised and will certainly donate to charitable causes, reinforces Ms Hurd’s acknowledgment that the judiciary has completed a rigorous judicial process.

However, there are still possibilities for the continuation of the circus show, because Amber Heard seems to have not learned her lesson. In her social networks about her, the actress has already promised not to “be silent” and blamed the American judicial system for all the sins:

I make this decision after losing faith in the American legal system, where my testimony has served as entertainment and social media fodder. Women shouldn’t face name calling or bankruptcy for speaking the truth, but unfortunately this is not uncommon.

The deal provides an opportunity to let go of what I tried to walk away from over six years ago, and on terms I can accept. However, I have not made any confessions. This is not a deed of concession. There are no restrictions or prohibitions regarding my words in the future.

Last time, Amber Heard’s irresistible desire to “not be silent” and convey to people “their truth” led to an article in the Washington Post and a lost trial.
