At just twenty-two, the young man is chosen in the lead role of the cast of the famous TV series The Saturday night boyswhere he plays Vinnie Barbarino, an Italian student with a poetic vein, who enjoys insulting others in rhyme.
Director Badham is delighted by Travolta’s theatrical performance, draws inspiration from his interpretation and chooses him as the protagonist for his next film, Saturday Night Fever, where the actor manages to increase his notoriety. Success is repeated in 1978, when he is chosen in the film Grease alongside Olivia Newton-John to play the famous Denny Zukko.
