The Portuguese Luís Manuel Ribeiro de Castro (Luis Castro) is the new coach of Botafogo. Project Commander of John Textor to lead the club’s main team in the coming years, Castro arrives in Rio de Janeiro this Sunday (27/03), at Galeão Airport, at 6:00 am, to start his career at Clube Mais Tradicional. The coach’s contract is for two years.
“Luís Castro is the right man for Botafogo. Highly recognized for his leadership and development of the Porto Football Academy, won against some of the best teams in the world and recently won the Emir Cup with Al-Duhail, Mister Castro knows how to build champion teams. He is a coach, teacher and a true gentleman. But now, as you know, he was chosen by the most traditional club“, highlighted John Textor.
Castro arrives accompanied by Vitor Severino (help), João Brandão (help), Daniel Correa (goalkeeper coach) Roberto Oliveira, aka Betinho (physical trainer) and Nuno Baptista (performance analyst).
