Longtime comedy writer John Peaslee is best known for his work. Coach y According to JimHe died of natural causes on November 11. He was 73 years old.
Peasley’s death was confirmed by his former partner, Judd Pillot.
Originally from New York and a graduate of Northwestern University, Peasley’s career spans more than 40 years and spans multiple genres. He began working in news and documentaries, first at Newsweek and then for producer Alvin H. Perlmutter. In 1985, he moved to Los Angeles, where he pursued a successful career in television comedy, writing and producing similar shows. He also won the Peabody and Humanitas Award.
“John was polite, soft-spoken and very upset, even angry,” Pilot wrote on Facebook on Tuesday. “We created a diverse team. It was caviar on toast, pointing to my smoked salmon on a bagel. And with his blue eyes and perfect hair, he was the perfect Paul Newman to my Paul Reiser. “I’m sorry, Pablo.”
Peasley is survived by his wife, Dava White; a daughter, Rebecca, and a brother, Jim.
