Located at 11 275 boul. Métropolitain Est, in Anjou, this new garage includes, in addition to 20 service bays, six of which have been reserved for quick assignment, 25,000 square feet of warehouse space is devoted to parts for the seven dealerships (four in the Montreal area, two in the Quebec region and one in Beauce).

A building at the cutting edge of best practices

Impressed with the quality of the facilities, Mr. O’Leary briefly took the floor to thank Mr. Boyer for being a valued partner for Freightliner and Western Star trucks for 25 years.

After thanking some of his most loyal customers since its very beginnings – notably Guy Brossard and Jérôme Léonard of Location Brossard and Jean-Claude Fortin of Transport JE Fortin – Mr. Boyer mentioned a statistic that clearly reveals the constant progress of the company: from 10% in 1994, its market share has now reached 41% in the sale of new and used trucks.

Before this sober and “classy” official ceremony, Truck transport was able to take a guided tour of the premises with the general manager of the four dealerships in the greater Montreal area, Mr. Maxime Goyer. He told us that Globocam had visited a few garages in the United States in order to learn from the best practices in terms of efficient management of a heavy vehicle repair garage.

Safe and modern work areas for mechanics

Among the good ideas that came out of these visits was the configuration of the trucks in the garage. Instead of aligning them in a straight line of the bays, the trucks are oriented slightly to the left in order to more easily borrow, when they leave, the center corridor which leads to the rear door. With this configuration and the delimitation of the repair areas from the traffic lane, the trucks do not have to back up or carry out dangerous maneuvers for the mechanics.

“We also installed, Mr. Boyer told us, air conditioning and a radiant heating system so that the mechanics are completely comfortable in their work. »

“For each mechanic, the company provides a Rousseau tool box as well as a laptop computer to carry out diagnostics on the trucks,” explained the vice-president of special projects at Globocam, Mr. Gilles Beaudoin, during the presentation of the characteristics. garage technology. The company has also procured eight rechargeable mobile jacks which add to the flexibility of truck lifts.

Finally, Globocam has thought of a rest area for drivers waiting for their truck, a bathroom with shower, washer and dryer, a television, a direct view of the garage as well as a gym for employees and customers wishing to keep in good physical shape.
