John Krasinski Announces New Family Film “IF (Imaginary Friends)” with Star-Studded Cast

MEXICO CITY.- John Krasinski will make a 180° turn in his career as a director with a family film titled IF (Imaginary Friends). This tape mixes flesh and blood actors with CGI and you will explore a world where all kinds of imaginary creatures roam.

The film follows a young woman with the ability to see imaginary friends who have been abandoned by the children they helped over the years and are now creatures sad for being left alone. Here we will follow her as she embarks on a magical adventure to reconnect everyone with her imaginary friends.

“Imaginary Friends is a movie I made for my kids because I don’t think they’re allowed to see ‘A Quiet Place.’ Emily (Blunt) calls it PG-40, ‘you’ll be able to watch it when you’re 40!’, so I had to make a movie that they could watch, and I’m very, very excited about it,” said John Krasinski.

In addition to directing, John Krasinski stars in this film alongside Ryan Reynolds. The cast is completed by Cailey Fleming, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, Awkwafina y Steve Carell.

“Imaginary friends are adorable and all that stuff, but they’re also time capsules of your hopes, dreams, and ambitions when you were your most fertile brain, and that never goes away. “I think they tell us that we are adults instead of, if you realize, you never stopped being a child,” Krasinski added for Collider magazine.

It is expected that IF hits theaters on May 16, 2024.
