Juan Arturo Farge Begazo, lawyer for Jonathan Sarmiento Llanto, better known as John Kelvinannounced that he will file an appeal against the 21-year sentence that was imposed on the singer for physical and sexual assault against his ex-partner Dahlia Duran.

He stressed that the Judiciary has not taken into account the statements he gave Dahlia Duran in the Gessel chamber and in the trial hearing regarding the fact that, according to what she said, she indicates that she had not been a victim of sexual violation by John Kelvin.

For this reason, he considered that the sentence is “disproportionate” and that they will go to the last instances to achieve the acquittal of John Kelvin on the rape charge. He explained that the singer has pleaded guilty to the crime of physical assault and that they have requested the early termination of the process for that charge, but that the request has not been accepted.
