Johans Hardwarehub: Circle Guitar, the guitar that plays “automatically”

Johans Hardwarehub is a column in which we discuss the best and most striking gadgets and hardware every week. This week it’s about the Circle Guitar.

Music has been made with the guitar for centuries. These have of course been further developed over the years and are available in various shapes and sizes. There are acoustic guitars, but also electric guitars that are connected via an amplifier and can give a completely different sound. Musician Anthony Dickens thought there was still room for a model and developed something completely different, namely the Circle Guitar. The special thing about this guitar is that it plays automatically, at least to a large extent.

In the middle part, where the strings are normally struck, a rotating disc has now been placed that automatically strikes the strings by turning so that you only have to operate the correct chords. Because you don’t have to play the strings now, you have this hand free for other actions to influence the sound. Think of the use of filters and the application of other elements to create a unique sound.

Although this is mainly an experiment by Mr. Dickens, it could just be that there is more in the future and that the guitar will actually appear in the shops.
