Norwegian Johannes Boe won the Oberhof sprint on Wednesday, consolidating his position as the overall leader of the Biathlon World Cup.
Pressured by the emergence of his young compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid (23), victorious 4 times already this season, and regularly in trouble with his shooting since the beginning of winter, Boe has returned to his good habits in running a perfect race. He signs his third success of the season and the 51st of his career.
Author of a clear rifle, the double holder of the large crystal globe edged Laegreid by 12.4 seconds. German Arnd Peiffer finished 3rd.
The French were not at the party, as they often do this winter. Quentin Fillon-Maillet, 8th, was the best tricolor. The Jurassien, who mortgaged his chances in the general classification of the World Cup last week with a poor 84th place in the sprint disputed at Oberhof, raised his head somewhat without being able to join in the fight for the podium, despite only one shooting error.
