Johann von Bülow: From Acting Fame to Personal Fitness and Sports Affinity

Johann von Bülow, 51, was born in Munich. He gained fame as an actor through, among other things, the feature film “After Five in the Jungle” and the series “Murder with a View.” As a scion of the Mecklenburg noble von Bülow family, he is distantly related to Loriot. From the end of October he can be seen in the third season of the series “Parlament” in the ARD media library and from November 4th in the thriller “The Second Wave”.

SZ: Sport is…?

Johann von Bülow: …often great to look at, but still best when you just do it yourself.

Your current fitness level?

It used to be better, but is currently being expanded again.

Rim upswing or retreat?

Rim recovery, of course, at least as long as it lasts.

Was physical education for you?

Mostly a welcome change from normal lessons.

Your personal record?

Almost 1300 meters of altitude a day while ski touring.

Stadium visitors or television athletes?

Depends on the stadium, but generally it’s better to watch it live than just in front of the TV.

Bavaria or Sixty?

Bayern!

Your eternal sports idol?

Muhammad Ali.

A formative experience?

Markus Wasmeier’s winning run at the World Cup in the giant slalom in Bormio with the legendary comment of a presenter whose name I can’t remember: “The glasses are gone, the hat is gone, he’s still into the skis…”

In which discipline would you be an Olympic champion?

In the knowledge of men over 50.

Which athlete would you like to swap jerseys with?

Roger Federer.

Under the “Formsache” section, the SZ asks people every week about their affinity for sport. Artists, politicians, captains of industry – just not athletes. It would be boring.
