FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee Johanis Tanak is not afraid regarding the plan to summon and investigate by Polda Metro Jaya.
Johanis Tanak is planned to be questioned as a witness in the alleged extortion case carried out by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.
Johanis said he was ready to fulfill Polda Metro Jaya’s summons next week.
According to him, as a person who works in a law enforcement agency, he should comply with the ongoing legal process.
“We should not call and examine people, ask other people for information in cases handled by the KPK,” he said in a press conference to journalists, at the KPK Building, Saturday (25/11/2023).
He said this was a step by Polda Metro Jaya to thoroughly uncover the criminal cases that it was handling.
“Then other law enforcement officers will also ask for information, we have to comply so that a case can be revealed clearly,” he continued.
Previously, it was reported that the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya would question four KPK leaders next week.
This investigation was carried out after Polda Metro Jaya named KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri as a suspect in alleged extortion.
“We have scheduled an examination next week,” said the Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Direskrimsus) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol. Ade Safri Simanjuntak to journalists in Jakarta, Friday (24/11/2023).
Ade said that the examination of four KPK leaders, namely Alexander Marwata, Nurul Ghufron, Nawawi Pomolango, and Johanis Tanak would be carried out before the examination of suspect Firli Bahuri.
