On Monday, October 21, there will be an opportunity for friends, acquaintances and guests from the football world in the evening at the KNVB Campus to commemorate Johan Neeskens. Prior to this commemoration, he will be buried in a family circle in his hometown in Switzerland.
Johan Neeskens died suddenly last Sunday, October 6. At the time of his death, he was working in Algeria for KNVB WorldCoaches. In the days that followed, his family’s focus was on bringing home their beloved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather.
After the sad news about the death of Johan Neeskens became known, the family was overloaded with reactions from friends, colleagues and acquaintances from the football world. They received messages of support from all over the world from people who care about Johan.
The Neeskens family would like to pay their last respects to Johan together with friends, acquaintances and guests from the football world at the farewell on October 21. They would also like to thank all fans for the wonderful reactions they have received. “We, as Johan’s family, would like to thank everyone for the heartwarming expressions of support we have experienced in recent days. In these difficult times it brings us comfort to hear how loved Johan was by many.”
The guests for the memorial service will be contacted by the KNVB in the coming days.
