Johan believes the news about Matthijs will subside again. Additionally, Johan cites examples where he himself was national news due to unrest in Inside today. “Then you’re world news for a while, but that will pass,” says Johan.
“What’s left is a great TV man. If Talpa needs anything, it’s a great TV man,” Johan continues. “I’d say that’s excellent. He doesn’t have so many escape options anymore.”
According to Johan, there are no “exciting stories” to tell about himself. “It’s just that sometimes I came out hard.” He says of the situation with Matthijs: “Since nobody pulled the emergency brake, it obviously escalated.”
Then the gentlemen of Today Inside rail against Claudia de Breij and Marc-Marie Huijbregts. They even call the latter “spring chicken”. “Even the spring chicken doesn’t make a noise,” Wilfred begins. Johan then: “Day after day, he was putting two in his pocket. You don’t feel it.” Wilfred finds Marc-Marie and Claudia “very selective”. “Sometimes they’re the first to find everything and now they keep their mouths shut.”
Matthijs announced on Monday that he was leaving BNNVARA because he finds it annoying that the broadcaster openly doubts his sincerity. The reason for this is the Volkskrant article in which dozens of former employees of The world goes on accusing the presenter, but also final responsibility, of ‘extreme outbursts of anger’ and ‘humiliations’.
Rob Goossens believes Matthijs’ reaction is that of a “child trampling”. You can see exactly what he means by that in the video below.
